Crews from 40 states are in Louisiana, helping to restore power to thousands of customers who lost power during Hurricane Ida.

Entergy continues to make restoration progress following Hurricane Ida’s destructive path through southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, restoring electrical power to 179,000 customers.

Our nearly 26,000 workers from 40 states are helping assess damage and destruction across our territory and restoring service where it is safe to do so. The restoration process will continue to accelerate in the coming days.

The company was able to announce last night that all Greater Baton Rouge area customers who can safely receive power are estimated to be restored by Sept. 8. As assessments continue, additional estimated restoration times will be communicated.

In addition to restoring power to areas hit by Hurricane Ida, we’ve compiled a list of available critical service providers and resources available to you.

Entergy Payments

Something that is impacting all Entergy customers, not just those affected by the storm, is that the devastation from Hurricane Ida is causing delays in receiving and processing payments sent to Entergy via USPS and other mail courier services.

We encourage all customers to make digital payments online to ensure payments are received and applied timely.

Visit Myentergy.com for convenient digital payment options to avoid paying for postage, incurring late fees or experiencing service disruption.

Issues with View Outages Map

Due to outage volume and post-storm assessment status, our View Outages map may temporarily show discrepancies. This is due to a data error that we are working to correct as quickly as possible. In the interim, restoration updates are being provided in the red alert banner at the top of the map.

Red/green lines do not indicate power status to a specific address. To learn status of your address, check your account by logging into myEntergy or the mobile app, or register for text alerts and text STAT.

The area view provides the most reliable and informative information available during damage assessment following large outage events such as storms. For those with difficulty distinguishing colors, please follow the key for shading which depicts the number of customers out.

Damage estimates

In Louisiana, damage assessments are 63% complete statewide with our goal to be complete tonight, except for inaccessible areas in the hard-hit southeastern portion of the state.

Distribution system damage in Louisiana and Mississippi at 1 p.m. included 10,212 poles, 13,297 spans of wire and 2,223 transformers damaged or destroyed.

With the damage assessment for transmission approximately 90% complete, we have identified 155 destroyed transmission structures and 245 structures and spans that were damaged. This compares to 1,459 transmission structures destroyed and 450 damaged during Hurricane Laura in 2020.

Of the 222 affected transmission substations, 99 have returned to service as of 8 a.m., as well as 79 of 209 affected transmission lines. More than 1,350 miles of transmission lines remain out of service.

As damage assessment reports continue to come in throughout the region, we will develop and provide restoration times.

Rest assured we are working very hard to safely restore power as soon as possible.
