As Entergy Arkansas celebrates its 110th anniversary this year, lineworkers paused to reflect on the history of restoring power to customers throughout the state and beyond.
Storm response is a meticulously orchestrated production that Entergy trains and drills for year-round. Well before a storm strikes, employees transition to storm roles and prepare to support service restoration.
Despite the extensive damage, crews were able to restore power to all customers who could receive it within a week of the storm. Engineers also used the rebuild as a chance to strengthen the grid and prepare Rolling Fork for greater resiliency during future storms.
Consistent with our commitment to powering life for our customers every day, Entergy Arkansas crews are still working in Ground Zero where the tornadoes struck.
For crews restoring power in Arkansas following the tornadoes, more work is still to be done.
More than 1,250 crew members worked safely and quickly to restore service to the nearly 44,100 customers who were impacted by two severe weather events.
Restoration is complete in Clinton, Jackson, and Vicksburg for all customers that can safely receive power.
A customized mobile substation gets power back to customers as safely and quickly as possible.
We continue to make progress in our restoration effort from the tornado and thunderstorm activity that entered Entergy Mississippi’s service territory on March 24 and 26.
