Crews have been able to rebuild our system in a new, more dry location and power restoration estimates for customers who can receive it has been updated to today, Sept. 9.
Entergy New Orleans has restored power to 98% of customers. We anticipate the remaining 4,000 customers who remain without power to have it restored by late evening Sept. 10 if they are able to receive it.
In 11 days, our workforce has restored nearly 80% or 728,000 of the 948,000 total customers who lost power.
After 10 days of restoration work following Hurricane Ida’s path of destruction, Entergy New Orleans and Entergy Louisiana employees have restored power to 90% of customers in the greater New Orleans and Greater Baton Rouge areas. These areas include Ascension, Iberville, East and West Bank of Jefferson and Orleans parishes.
We anticipate the vast majority of customers in New Orleans Parish who can safely accept power will be restored by late evening Sept. 8. While power restoration continues, customers may see that their neighbors have power restored before they do. That could mean that each customer is served by two different parts of the electric grid.
As of 10:30 a.m., we have restored nearly 170,000 customers. We anticipate the vast majority of customers in New Orleans Parish who can safely accept power will be restored by late evening Sept. 8. Customers in the hardest hit areas along Chef Menteur Highway east of Chef Pass are estimated to be restored by Sept. 29 if they are able to receive power.
