Café Reconcile partners with Energy Smart to save more on their energy bills

03/10/2023

Café Reconcile has been working with the Energy Smart program to become more energy efficient, save money on their energy bills and impact the environment in a positive way. Through the program, the business has replaced almost 400 light bulbs with brand-new LED bulbs and installed smart thermostats.

“As a consumer of energy in our community, this is how we can be a part of creating a solution not just for our young people, but also for the world we live in,” said Caitlin Scanlan, Chief Development Officer of Café Reconcile.

Café Reconcile is a New Orleans nonprofit restaurant serving a Southern cuisine, which supports young adults by encouraging their personal growth, providing workforce development and training, and equipping them with tools to achieve their potential. The local nonprofit has graduated more than 2,000 youth between the ages of 16 and 24 since 1996. Find out more about Café Reconcile here.

Entergy New Orleans’ Energy Smart program is currently offering companies more money to complete energy-efficient facility upgrades. Business customers can apply to receive an extra 25 percent cash incentive in addition to the standard cash incentive Energy Smart distributes on a per-project basis.

The 25 percent incentive is available to all Entergy New Orleans business customers who apply and submit eligible project requests by June 30, 2023. Program participants will have until September 30, 2023 to complete upgrades. Businesses interested in learning more or applying can visit the Energy Smart website to begin the application process.
