Longtime Silsbee journeyman Stephen Davis selected as Entergy Texas’ Lineman of the Game

12/14/2023

Since 2002, Stephen Davis has been entrusted to help keep the lights on in Entergy Texas communities. The Warren, Texas-native serves as a journeyman serviceman, a position that wears many hats and works to build and maintain the electrical grid and relationships with our customers and communities.

Every journeyman is responsible for a specific portion of the company’s service area, and for the last 19 years, Davis has helped provide reliable power for customers in the Silsbee network, which includes Kountze, Lumberton, Woodville, Hardin County, Tyler County, and surrounding areas.

“Working at Entergy Texas gives me a sense of pride and stability,” said Davis. “I enjoy helping others, talking with customers and helping to keep the lights on.”

Davis’ passion, expertise and leadership are just a few of the reasons why he was selected as Entergy Texas’ Saints Lineman of the Game. The annual recognition highlights employees for their dedication to Entergy, our customers, our communities and above all—safety.

“Stephen’s work ethic, drive and commitment to our customers makes him more than eligible for recognition,” said Cade Sherwin, Davis’ supervisor and utility foreman for the Entergy Texas. “He is well respected by his peers and a great role model and mentor to the next generation of line workers.”

To celebrate this achievement, Davis will be recognized during the Saints vs. Giants game in New Orleans on December 17. Catch Davis ‘lighting up the ‘Dome’ and pumping up the crowd before the start of the game!
