Entergy Shareholders Award $10M in Charitable Contributions Year-to-Date to Help Communities Thrive

Third-quarter grants included $2.3 million to fund poverty solutions, educational programs and economic development

NEW ORLEANS – During the first three quarters of 2021, the Entergy Charitable Foundation has helped power stronger, healthier communities by awarding $10 million to more than 880 nonprofit organizations located across Entergy’s service area of Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Michigan.

Entergy shareholders powered communities during the third quarter of 2021 with more than $2.3 million in grants to fund educational programs, poverty solutions, arts and culture, community enrichment and improvement, and support healthy families.

“Entergy’s mission is to create sustainable value for all stakeholders,” said Patty Riddlebarger, vice president of corporate social responsibility for Entergy Corporation. “Our philanthropic support for organizations that help ensure that our communities thrive is central to that mission.”

Significant contributions or commitments made during the third quarter included:

  • $466,664 in matching employee contributions to United Way Southeast Louisiana.
  • $150,000 to New Orleans City Seats Program to support early childhood education and childcare for low-income families.
  • $60,800 to the Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate Program for elementary, middle and high school schools in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
