JACKSON, Miss. – David Gibbs has been named director, regulatory affairs for Entergy Mississippi. In this role, he will help develop the company’s regulatory strategy, particularly with respect to annual filings made to the Mississippi Public Service Commission that address investments the company makes to support reliable and affordable service for its customers.

“David is an invaluable member of Entergy Mississippi’s leadership team,” said Jeremy Vanderloo, vice president, regulatory and public affairs, Entergy Mississippi. “His experience in finance has been instrumental in helping us achieve regulatory outcomes that benefit our customers. We’re excited that he will bring that expertise to this new role to help us keep rates for our customers among the lowest in the country.”

Gibbs joined Entergy in 1999. Serving as director of finance for Entergy Mississippi since January 2019, he was primarily responsible for the company’s financial strategy, planning and reporting.

During his career at Entergy, Gibbs has held various roles in accounting and finance for both the utility and the company’s unregulated business. He played a key role in building the company’s unregulated nuclear business in the northeast and was instrumental in helping Entergy optimize its merchant nuclear portfolio. Prior to joining Entergy, Gibbs worked in public accounting.

Gibbs earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in professional accountancy from Mississippi State University. He also became a certified public accountant in 1995.

JoAnne Ivy succeeds Gibbs as director of finance for Entergy Mississippi. She has been with Entergy’s nuclear business since December 2018, providing oversight for cost tracking of refueling outages and capital spend and closings for Entergy’s nuclear fleet.

“JoAnne’s experience within the company and the industry will serve Mississippi well,” said Haley Fisackerly, president and CEO of Entergy Mississippi. “All departments will benefit from the breadth and depth of knowledge of utility finance that she brings to the position.”

Prior to coming to Entergy, Ivy worked at Southern Company’s Gulf Power operating company where she was a financial reporting and tax supervisor.  Having held positions previously at IMB Connecting and Cavett, Turner and Wyble, LLP, Ivy is a certified public accountant and certified fraud examiner.

Ivy will serve as a member of the Entergy Mississippi lead team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
