Entergy Louisiana storm update – 6/17/23, 6 p.m.

06/17/2023

As Entergy crews and contractors narrow in on areas in North Louisiana that were hard hit by recent storms, crews further south in the Greater Baton Rouge area are just beginning to assess damage and restore power where it is safe to do so after the region was impacted by a strong storm that brought high winds and hail Saturday afternoon.

At 6:30 p.m., approximately 31,100 customers were without power, most concentrated in Bienville, Jackson, Webster and Winn parishes in North Louisiana and Ascension, East Baton Rouge and West Baton Rouge parishes in Southeast Louisiana.

While assessments are completed in North Louisiana, assessments and power restoration work are underway in Greater Baton Rouge. Once crews determine the extent of damages to the electric system and better understand the materials and personnel needed to restore power, estimated times of restoration can be developed and communicated. Estimated times of restoration are available for parishes in North Louisiana and are listed below.

Excessive heat remains a concern. Customers are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear loose-fitted clothing and keep safety top of mind. For more hot weather safety tips, please visit our Newsroom. Also, customers are encouraged to keep their distance from utility crews and their worksites as well as any downed power lines and report them to the company at 1-800-ENTERGY.
