We continue to make progress in our restoration effort from the tornado and thunderstorm activity that entered Entergy Mississippi’s service territory on March 24 and 26.
We continue to make progress in our restoration effort from the tornado and thunderstorm activity that entered our Entergy Mississippi service territory Friday night in the northern service territory.
Progress in the northern territories slowed this afternoon, while more storms packed with heavy winds, lightning and golf-ball-sized hail passed through the state and caused additional outages in the southern and central service territories.
Severe weather, including thunderstorms and a tornado, pelted Entergy Mississippi’s service area Friday night, causing power outages for 15,398 customers at peak.
Spring symbolizes a new beginning, but when it comes to seasonal changes, the uncertainty of weather remains. Entergy Mississippi plans and trains all year to respond and restore power when extreme, unpredictable weather causes power outages and downed power lines.
Restoration is complete for all customers who were impacted by this storm and can accept electrical service safely.
We made significant progress in our restoration efforts yesterday and overnight. As of 9 a.m., 1,154 customers remain without power, down from a peak of 12,803.
As of 1:30 p.m., about 5,000 customers remain without power, down from a peak of 12,803.
