After a storm like Hurricane Ida, widespread power outages and high summer temperatures often lead people to turn to portable generators to keep air circulating and refrigerators running. But improper use of gas generators is one of the leading dangers after a storm passes.
Five days after Ida made landfall, Entergy has restored 225,000 of the nearly 950,000 customers who lost power due to the storm, with estimated restoration times now available for most Louisiana customers.
Our nearly 26,000 workers from 40 states are helping assess damage and destruction across our territory and restoring service where it is safe to do so. The restoration process will continue to accelerate in the coming days.
Entergy continues to make restoration progress following Hurricane Ida’s destructive path through southeast Louisiana and Mississippi. After nearly four days of restoration, Entergy has restored 179,000 customers.
