This summer was the hottest ever recorded, and in response to the extreme heat, Entergy launched its “Beat the Heat” program – aimed at implementing a series of measures to help vulnerable customers stay cool and safe this summer.
Entergy Corporation and its Louisiana subsidiaries will provide around $224,000 by the end of the year to food pantries and nonprofits to reduce food insecurity in local communities.
The annual event raised a total of $118,000, which will go toward helping senior customers and customers with disabilities.
The company awarded MCFB a $65,000 grant to help support six mobile market food distributions.
