Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund recently recognized Newport residents Melissa Harp and Quinntina Richardson with awards, based on their outstanding achievements and commitment to their educational success.

Recognizing the key to a skilled workforce is a quality education, Entergy has joined as the lead sponsor in partnership with the New Orleans College Football Championship Host Committee and the College Football Playoff Foundation to make a major impact on Orleans Parish teachers.
Entergy has partnered with Southern University to further support their mutual commitment to developing engineering talent for the future. A $2 million grant to Southern University from Entergy and the Entergy Charitable Foundation will support classroom and lab infrastructure improvements, as well as curriculum and faculty professional development for the university’s engineering program.
Support from the Entergy Charitable Foundation has helped Posse New Orleans fulfill the college-bound dreams of more than 150 high-school scholars, many of whom would have otherwise lacked the resources to continue their education.
Students at Glen Oaks Park Elementary and Brookstown Middle School now have the opportunity to enjoy new library books that educate, celebrate and create awareness around the importance of diversity, inclusion, kindness, compassion and empathy.
