Control room operators shut down Entergy’s Indian Point Unit 3 nuclear power plant in Buchanan this morning to begin a nearly $100 million refueling and maintenance outage after 453 days of continuous operation. This work brings 1,000 additional workers and economic benefits to the region, and reinforces Entergy’s commitment to continued safe and reliable operations through the plant’s planned permanent shutdown in 2021.

Today, Entergy Texas announced a major step to build that talent pipeline with a $500,000 commitment to support local workforce development training programs. Entergy Texas’ contribution is the first step in a five-year commitment to supporting workforce development efforts across Southeast Texas.
In continuing its efforts to help Baton Rouge customers and community partners recover from last year’s devastating floods, Entergy has awarded grants totaling $225,000 to two nonprofits.

Super Tax Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 in Willis at the Parent Support Center, located at 606 N. Campbell Street. In addition to tax preparation assistance, Entergy’s local community partners are also offering a number of programs designed to help families use tax refunds to increase savings and financial well-being. Programs such as financial coaching, budget workshops, healthy food and lifestyle choices are some of the many services offered at Super Tax Day.
Super Tax Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 4 in Beaumont at the Gloria Ramirez Neighborhood Resource Center, located at 2850 Gulf Parkway.
