Ten winners share more than $125,000 to improve competitiveness, support development

BUCHANAN, N.Y. – Entergy’s Indian Point Unit 3 nuclear power plant returned to service following its successful scheduled $100 million refueling, maintenance and inspection outage. Control room operators returned Unit 3 to operation this morning, sending electricity to the grid after a planned shutdown that began March 13.

Control room operators removed Entergy’s Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station from service April 15 to begin its 21st scheduled refueling and maintenance outage.

Work Boosts Local Economy by Bringing in 1,100 Additional Workers

Control room operators shut down Entergy’s Indian Point Unit 3 nuclear power plant in Buchanan this morning to begin a nearly $100 million refueling and maintenance outage after 453 days of continuous operation. This work brings 1,000 additional workers and economic benefits to the region, and reinforces Entergy’s commitment to continued safe and reliable operations through the plant’s planned permanent shutdown in 2021.
